A free, simple CRM for small business, with no sign-up
If you run a small business or freelance and keep customers in a spreadsheet or your head, open CRM. It keeps contacts and companies, shows your deals on a pipeline board, reminds you of follow-ups, and logs every call and email, all in your browser. It's a free alternative to HubSpot CRM for one person who doesn't want paid tiers or to hand customer data to a cloud service.
Step by step
- Open CRM. To look around first, choose Data → Load example data; you can undo it straight away.
- Bring in your contacts: Data → Import contacts (CSV). Check that the columns match (name, email, phone, company, job title, tags, notes) and press Import. Companies are created from the Company column.
- Or add people by hand with New → Contact (or press C). A panel opens on the right; type and it saves as you go.
- Add a deal with New → Deal (or D): give it a name, a value, a stage, the contact and the expected close date.
- Open Deals to see the pipeline. Drag a card to the next stage as the deal moves forward, or change the stage inside the deal.
- In any contact, company or deal, use Activity to log a note, call, email or meeting. Ctrl+Enter saves it.
- Add follow-ups with New → Task (or T) and a due date. Tasks groups them into overdue, today and upcoming; tick them off when done.
- Check the Dashboard each morning: open pipeline, weighted value, won this month, tasks due and deals closing soon.
- Use Data → Save backup file regularly, and Export to CSV when you need a spreadsheet.
Who it helps
- Freelancers and consultants tracking a handful of clients and proposals without paying monthly.
- Shops, clinics and agencies that want a follow-up list and a view of what's likely to close this month.
- Businesses that can't put customer data in a US cloud, or don't want to: everything stays on your computer.
- Sales people who want their own private pipeline next to the company system.
Why it's private
CRM is a static page. Contacts, deals, tasks and notes are saved in your browser's storage on your device and are never uploaded. The page's security policy blocks it from sending data to other websites. Email, Call and WhatsApp buttons only open your own apps. It works offline after the first visit.
Tips and limits
- Stages and probabilities: in Data → Settings rename stages, add new ones and set the win probability used for the weighted value.
- Search (press /) finds contacts by name, email, phone, company or tag.
- Single user, single device. No team sharing, no sync, no email sending or tracking, no automation.
- Back up. Clearing your browser data deletes the CRM. Keep the backup file somewhere safe.
- Deleting anything can be undone from the message that appears.
