Build an HTML email template for free, with no export limits
If you need a good-looking newsletter or announcement and don't want to design it inside a paid email platform, open Email Builder. You stack blocks (heading, text, image, button, columns, social links, footer), see it on desktop and mobile, and export email-safe HTML to paste into any email tool. It's a free alternative to Mailchimp's email designer, with no account and no limit on exports.
Step by step
- Open Email Builder. To start fast, choose File → Template: Newsletter (or Announcement, Event invitation, Welcome email).
- Click any block in the preview to edit it on the right. Text has B, I and Link buttons (Ctrl+B, Ctrl+I, Ctrl+K).
- Add blocks from Add a block; each new block goes under the selected one. Reorder them in Layers by dragging or with the arrows, and use the copy and bin icons to duplicate or delete.
- For pictures, paste the image's web address (for example from your website or your email tool's image library). Set the width, the alignment, the description for screen readers, and an optional link.
- For buttons, set the text, the link, the colours and the rounded corners.
- Open Email settings to set the preview text that shows after the subject in the inbox, the font, the colours, the width and the direction (left to right or right to left).
- Switch the preview between Desktop and Mobile to check both.
- Press Export and choose Download .html or Copy HTML, then paste it into your email tool's "custom HTML" or "code your own" option. Plain-text version gives you the text-only copy many tools ask for.
Who it helps
- Small businesses sending a monthly newsletter from a free email plan whose own editor is limited.
- Freelancers and agencies making templates for clients who use different email tools.
- Event organisers who need a clean invitation with an RSVP button today.
- Arabic-language senders: right-to-left emails with alignment that does the right thing.
Why it's private
Email Builder is a static page. Your email is saved in your browser's storage on your device and is never uploaded, and the HTML is made by your browser. The editor doesn't even load pictures from the web; the page's security policy blocks it from contacting other websites.
Tips and limits
- Use web addresses for images. Uploaded pictures are embedded in the HTML, and Gmail and many other apps won't show those. The export warns you if your email has any.
- Keep it under about 100 KB. Gmail clips bigger emails. The size is shown under the email name and in the export window.
- Empty blocks are left out. An image block without a picture or a social block without links doesn't appear in the exported email.
- It doesn't send email or manage subscriber lists, and add an unsubscribe link using your email tool's own merge tag in the footer.
- Save a project file (File menu) to come back to the same email on another computer.
FAQ
Is the email builder free, with unlimited exports?
Yes. There is no account and no limit on how many times you export or copy the HTML.
Does it send my email?
No. It makes the HTML. Paste it into your email tool (Mailchimp, Brevo, MailerLite, Gmail with an extension, Outlook) and send from there.
Why don't my pictures show in the editor?
The editor never downloads anything from the internet, so for pictures given by web address it shows a box saying where the picture will appear. In the sent email they load normally. Uploaded pictures are shown, but many email apps block them, so use web addresses for sending.
Will it look right in Outlook and Gmail?
The HTML uses tables and inline styles, an Outlook wrapper and a mobile layout, which is what most email apps expect. Email apps still differ, so send yourself a test before sending to your list.
Can I write emails in Arabic?
Yes. In Email settings choose Right to left. Left and right alignment are swapped so text starts on the right, and Tahoma is a good font choice for Arabic.
